Grade R

Our school has three Grade R classes accommodating 35 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 0 (for grade 0), however at our school Grade R learners should be 5 years turning 6years in June. Apart from fine motor and gross motor skills that learners acquire through a number of formal and informal school activities we offer Xhosa as a home language, Mathematics and Life Skills. We pride ourselves with three qualified and experienced Grade R teachers, namely:- Ms PN Msingale who is also our Foundation Phase Deputy Principal (PTD and Bed Honours); Ms NE Hobe who is also our Grade R Head (PTD and Bed Honours) and Ms N Mashiyane who is an ex Grade 3 Examiner (UDE).

Grade 1

We currently have 4 classes of over 160 Grade 1 learners with about 40 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 1 (for grade 1), however at our school Grade 1 learners should be 6 years turning 7years in June. Just like in Grade R in Grade 1 we offer Xhosa as a home language, English as First Additional Language (EFAL), Mathematics and Life Skills. Languages are split into a number of sections that emphasize in reading, writing, telling stories (orally), dialogue and interpreting a written text. The medium of instruction is Xhosa except during English FAL period. We pride ourselves with four qualified and experienced Grade 1 teachers, namely:- Ms N Dubula who is also our Departmental Head (PTD and Bed Honours); Ms GN Mzana (PTD and Bed Honours); Mrs BY Matshikiza (PTD and ACE in Mathematics Teaching) and Ms TR Dyan-Matsili (NPDE)..

Grade 2

In Grade 2 we have 4 classes of over 160 Grade learners with about 40 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 2 (for grade 2), however at our school Grade 2 learners should be 7 years turning 8years in June. In Grade 2 we offer Xhosa as a home language, English as First Additional Language (EFAL), Mathematics and Life Skills. Languages are split into a number of sections that emphasize in reading, writing, telling stories (orally), dialogue and interpreting a written text. The medium of instruction is Xhosa except during English FAL period. We pride ourselves with four qualified and experienced Grade 2 teachers, namely:- Ms BL Malanda who is also our Departmental Head (PTD and Bed Honours); Ms AB Mbolekwa (PTD and Bed Honours); Mrs LC Mgcakeni (PTD and Bed Honours) and Ms HL Pakade (PTC, NPDE and Bed Honour).

Grade 3

In Grade 3 we have 3 classes of over 130 learners with about 40 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 3 (for grade 3), however at our school Grade 3 learners should be 8 years turning 9years in June. In Grade 3 we offer Xhosa as a home language, English as First Additional Language (EFAL), Mathematics and Life Skills. Languages are split into a number of sections that emphasize in reading, writing, telling stories (orally), dialogue and interpreting a written text. The medium of instruction is Xhosa except during English FAL period. We pride ourselves with three qualified and experienced Grade 3 teachers, namely:- Ms S Dlela-Zokufa who is also our Grade Head (PTD and Bed Honours); Ms T Kraqa  (PTD and Bed Honours) and  Mrs L Jasop (PTD and Bed Honours).

Grade 4

In Grade 4 we have 5 classes of over 170 Grade learners with about 43 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 4 (for grade 4), however at our school Grade 4 learners should be 9 years turning 10 years in June. In Grade 4 we offer Xhosa as a home language, English as First Additional Language (EFAL), Mathematics, Life Skills, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences & Technology (NS & Tech). Languages are split into a number of sections that emphasize in reading, writing, telling stories (orally), dialogue and interpreting a written text. The medium of instruction is English except during Xhosa HL period. We regard Grade 4 as a bridging class as learners now have increased number of subjects (6) and more teachers offering different subjects instead of one doing class teaching. We pride ourselves with six  qualified and experienced teachers, namely:- Ms NS Guma who is also our Departmental Head (PTD and Bed Honours); Mrs N Gcinindaba-Dwala (NPDE); Mrs GS Majola (BA Ed and Bed Honours); Mr MO Ntlekeni (PTD and Bed Honours); Mr KS Mpeta (PTD and HeD) and Ms GB Xhobongo (UDE).

Grade 5

In Grade 5 we have 4 classes of over 168 learners with about 41 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 5 (for grade 5), however at our school Grade 5 learners should be 10 years turning 11 years in June. Just like in Grade 4 we offer Xhosa as a home language, English as First Additional Language (EFAL), Mathematics, Life Skills, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences & Technology (NS & Tech). Languages are split into a number of sections that emphasize in reading, writing, telling stories (orally), dialogue and interpreting a written text. The medium of instruction is English except during Xhosa HL period. We pride ourselves with five qualified and experienced teachers, namely:- Mr M Thapuko who is also our Grade (PTD and Bed Honours); Mrs NE Madikane who is also our Deputy Principal in Intermediate & Senior Phase (PTD and Bed Honours); Mrs NM Dithipe (PTD and Bed Honours); Ms M Makume (PTD and Bed Honours) and Mr Ledwaba (PTD).

Grade 6

There are 4 classes of over 160 learners with about 40 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 6 (for grade 6), however at our school Grade 6 learners should be 11 years turning 12 years in June. Just like in Grade 4 we offer Xhosa as a home language, English as First Additional Language (EFAL), Mathematics, Life Skills, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences & Technology (NS & Tech). Languages are split into a number of sections that emphasize in reading, writing, telling stories (orally), dialogue and interpreting a written text. The medium of instruction is English except during Xhosa HL period. We pride ourselves with five   qualified and experienced teachers, namely:- Ms MG Mdanda who is also our Senior Teacher  (PTD and Bed Honours); Ms ZP Mtshaka (PTD and Bed Honours); Mr M Masiko (Bed FET); Mr MW Phoselo (NPDE); Mr S Mhlaba (Bed Intermediate).

Grade 7

In Grade 7 we have 4 classes of over 140 learners with about 41 learners each. Policy on admission age on learners generally is 6 plus 7 (for grade 7), however at our school Grade 7 learners should be 12 years turning 13 years in June. Unlike in other Grades, in Grade 7 we offer Xhosa as a home language, English as First Additional Language (EFAL), Mathematics, Life Orientation, Social Sciences (split into Geography and History), Natural Sciences, Technology, Creative Arts and EMS. Languages are split into a number of sections that emphasize in reading, writing, telling stories (orally), dialogue and interpreting a written text. The medium of instruction is English except during Xhosa HL period. We pride ourselves with five qualified and experienced teachers, namely:- Ms NJ Hloele who is also our Grade Head (PTD and Bed Honours); Dr SV Tiwani (PTD and PhD); Ms N Mjali (PTD and Bed); Mr M Mhaka (PTD and Bed) and Ms N Mfathu (Bed FET).
